My Trophy of Grace; One Lifetime of Purpose.
*Nine years of barrenness. Two battles with my mind. Homelessness. A broken marriage. Yet, grace had the final word.*
*The Waiting Season*
For nine long years, I carried empty arms and lived beneath the painful label of *barren.*
I endured disappointment, rejection, abuse, and endless opinions from people who never knew the silent battles I fought.
I pursued every medical solution I could find, believing each treatment might bring my miracle. Instead, the weight of disappointment broke me twice. There were seasons of homelessness, loneliness, and overwhelming shame.
*When Religion Could Not Heal*
In search of help from the church, I was told that divorce was not an option because “God hates divorce.” My parents pleaded with me to endure the pain of abuse; because of “What will people say, and yet, I was dying slowly. My parent believe that having children would somehow change everything.
*Many times, I asked myself, “Is this all God created me to live for?”*
*Then I encountered John 4, the story of the Samaritan woman. For the first time,* I discovered a God who looked beyond my shame and met me with grace. In that moment, I cried out, *“I am a woman at the well!”* which later form the name of our global Charity.
*A few months later, grace spoke. I discovered I was pregnant.*
It was not just only the birth of a son.
It was also the birth of purpose.
*Then Grace Spoke*
On 16 November, at 4:16 p.m., God did what medicine could not explain. He placed into my hands a son I named De Lord’s Anointed, a living testimony that God never forgets His own.
My tears became my testimony.
My pain found purpose.
Grace rewrote my story.
*Another Storm*
In year 20222, My marriage collapsed in full view of the public.
The court of public opinion quickly delivered its verdict.
Screenshots became weapons. Friendships dissolved into whispers.
Those who knew the least often spoke the loudest.
It would have been easy to disappear.
It would have been easy to let shame define me.
But truth does not need an audience to survive. Truth is a warrior. It fights without fists and often wins without applause.
So I chose a different path.
I learned to rise quietly.
To heal honestly.
To rebuild without seeking validation.
To surround myself with people who valued truth over gossip.
To study my scars as lessons instead of hiding them as failures.
To wear every disappointment as a teacher, never as my identity.
There were days without food or water.
*One memory still breaks my heart.*
My one-year-old daughter would place her mouth on my tear-soaked face, thinking my tears were milk. She hoped I would cry harder so she could have more, unaware that my tears were all I had left to give. It remains one of the deepest wounds of my life.
*I Choose Purpose Over Pain*
While others judged from a distance, I discovered that truth needs no audience.
Instead of becoming bitter, I chose to become better.
I healed by helping others heal.
I rebuilt without seeking approval.
I refused to let my wounds become my identity.
In that same season, I went into labour again, not with another child, but with purpose, and I made God a promise: if He brought me through, I would dedicate the rest of my life to helping others find hope.
*That promise gave birth to a vision.*
*The Birth of W@LW Global*
My second miracle was not another baby, it was Women at the Well of Living Waters (W@LW Global).
*Today, we are proud to say that, what began from one woman’s pain has grown into a global humanitarian movement with more than 50 branches across Africa and the diaspora.*
Together with our volunteers, partners, and supporters, we provide food relief, education, mentoring, skills development, scholarships, and practical support to vulnerable women, children, widows, and families.
What once silenced me has become a voice for thousands.
Five Years of Grace
As we celebrate the 5th Sound of Many Waters Global Convention, my heart overflows with gratitude.
I am not standing because life has been easy.
I stand because grace carried me.
I am not flawless.
I am deeply favoured.
Every transformed life reminds me that El Roi, the God who sees—still sees the forgotten, restores the broken, and gives beauty for ashes.
To Every Woman Reading This
If you feel forgotten, rejected, delayed, or broken, please don’t give up.
Waiting is never wasted in God’s hands.
Your scars are not the end of your story. One day, they may become someone else’s hope.
To every member, volunteer, partner, and supporter of Women at the Well of Living Waters, thank you for becoming the answer to prayers that were once whispered through tears. You are living proof that God still turns impossible stories into testimonies.
“My son was my first trophy of grace. W@LW Global is my second. Both are proof that what God births through pain can transform generations.
